Dr.Yahya Al-Fahim Saeed
Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering
DR. YAHIA SAID has acquired a PhD in Electronics from the University of Monastir - Tunisia. He is an Associate Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Northern Border University, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Said has published several papers in top-ranked scientific journals and participated in many national and international conferences. He is an Editorial Board Member and regular reviewer of several well-known indexed journals. He is researching STEM-related topics, such as intelligent embedded systems, artificial intelligence, embedded vision, desertification detection, solar energy forecasting, intelligent traffic management systems in smart cities, advanced driver assistance systems, and crowd management. Dr. Said's applied research portfolio showcases a deep engagement with developing AI-driven technologies for real-world applications. He focuses on enhancing assistive devices for the visually impaired through advanced computer vision and deep learning techniques to facilitate navigation and scene recognition. His work also extends to smart city solutions, like traffic management, intelligent parking systems, and public safety during events like Hajj. He contributes to solar forecasting for smart grids in the renewable energy sector. His environmental efforts include using AI for desertification monitoring. Much of his work involves embedding these intelligent systems into hardware, using FPGAs and GPUs for real-time, efficient processing critical for edge computing. His interdisciplinary research spans AI and engineering, targeting societal benefits and technological advancements in autonomous vehicles and embedded intelligence.

Dr. Ezz El-Din Saleh Al-Tuti

EZZEDDINE TOUTI received the B.S. and master’s degrees in electrical engineering in 1997 and 2005 from the Higher National College of Engineers of Tunis (Tunisia) and the National College of Engineers of Tunis, respectively, all in electrical engineering. He received a Ph.D. degree in induction generators, wind turbines, power quality, and electric drives from the National College of Engineers of Monastir (Tunisia) and Artois University (France) in 2013. In 2005, he joined the Laboratory of Industrial Systems Engineering and Renewable Energies (LISIER), University of Tunis, Tunisia, as a research faculty member. He is an Associate Professor in the College of Engineering at Northern Border University. His research interests are renewable energy, Control of Electrical Systems, Smart Grid, Electric Vehicle and Power electronics.

Dr. Al-Habib Abdullah Karim

HABIB KRAIEM received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the National Engineering School of Gabes, Tunisia, in October 2010. In 2012, he became a faculty member with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Higher Institute of Industrial Systems, Gabès, Tunisia. Since 2015, he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering, Northern Border University, Saudi Arabia, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023. His research interests include power electronics, machine drives, automatic control, electric vehicles, and renewable energy systems.

Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Ali Ajwa

AHMED M. AGWA was born in Egypt in 1979. He received the B.Sc. (Hons.), the M.Sc., and the Ph.D. degrees in 2003, 2009, and 2012, respectively, in electrical engineering at Al-Azhar University, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo, Egypt. He is currently an Associate Professor at Northern Border University, Saudi Arabia (on leave from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, since 2018). He has published many articles in specialized and reputable journals. He was ranked one of the highest-published researchers at Northern Border University in 2022. He has performed some electrical designs of strategic plans for the Egyptian electricity ministry in new cities (2006-2007). His research activities include power system analysis, renewable energy systems, and artificial intelligence applications in electrical power engineering.

Dr. Ahmed bin Saleh Al Zahrani

AHMAD SALIH AZZAHRANI received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Umm Al-Qura University in 2009 and M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology, Florida, USA in 2014 and 2020, respectively. He worked at Saudi Electricity Company for two years before joining Northern Border University’s faculty staff in 2011. During his PhD studies, he worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Florida Institute of Technology. In addition to his role at NBU as a vice dean of admission and registration, he teaches several courses, including Electronics, Object-Oriented Programming, Structured Computer Programming, and Digital Design. His research areas of interest are renewable energy, photonics, photodetectors, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.

Dr. Tariq bin Ibrahim Al-Anzi

DR. TAREK IBRAHIM ALANAZI has been a faculty member in the College of Science, Department of Physics, since 2013. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in physics from Northern Border University in 2011, followed by a master’s in physics from The University of Akron in the United States in 2016. He also earned his Ph.D. in Solid-State Physics (Third Generation Solar Energy) from The University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom in 2021. In 2022, he was appointed to work in the Program Accreditation Unit at the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation. In 2023, he was appointed Head of the Physics Department and Program Accreditation Advisor at the Deanship of Quality and Academic Accreditation. He currently serves as Vice Dean of the College of Science for Development and Community Partnerships, a position he has held since 2023.

Dr. Shaaban Awadallah

SHAABAN M. SHAABAN: received a B.Sc. degree (with honors) in electrical engineering, an M.SC. degree in engineering mathematics, and a Ph.D. degree in engineering mathematics from Menofia University, Shebin Elkom, Egypt in 2002, 2008, and 2010, respectively. From 2004 to 2010, he served as a research and teaching assistant at the Basic Science Engineering department at Shebin Elkom Faculty of Engineering. In 2010, he was employed as an assistant professor in engineering mathematics in the Basic Science Engineering department. in 2011, he was employed as an associate professor in engineering mathematics in the Electrical Engineering department at Northern Border University, Arar, KSA. In 2015, he was employed as an associate professor in the Electrical Engineering department at Northern Border University, Arar, KSA. In 2024, he was employed as a professor in the Electrical Engineering department at Northern Border University, Arar, KSA. His research interests include rough set theory, fuzzy mathematics, data mining, fault diagnosis, and operations research.
